Historian and best-selling author William Federer will be the keynote speaker on the steps of the Idaho Capitol for Constitution Day, September 17, 2023. In anticipation of that, Federer visited with Keep the Republic host and True Idaho News editor Daniel Bobinski. The interview can be viewed here and it is also embedded below.
The Constitution Day event is hosted by Mountain Heights church. Pastor Marty Yost says the day will be an ‘Appeal to Heaven’ service, and he invites citizens to join with others at the State Capitol from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Sunday the 17th. Yost says legislators will be in attendance, as well as pastors from across Idaho, joining in important conversations on why Christians must be involved in their communities.
Attendees will be able to meet Idaho Legislators and candidates, learn about their stances and commitments, and also be able to pray for them.
Constitution Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution. It’s observed on September 17th because that’s the day that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document in Philadelphia in 1787.
